Changes to the Hungarian Occupational Safety and Health rules
2025. May 14.From the autumn of 2024, Hungarian occupational safety regulations were revised, redefining employers’ obligations regarding medical fitness examinations. Under the new regulations, fitness examinations have remained mandatory only for specific high-risk job positions, such as those involving hazardous work environments, exposure to noise, or radiation. Employers are still entitled to conduct medical examinations at their own discretion; however, they must ensure an appropriate legal basis for doing so. Despite the changes, the objective responsibility of employers remains in place, making the provision of safe and health-preserving working conditions a fundamental obligation.
