Changes in meal limit regarding hospitality for HCPs event

2025. January 3.

Based on Section 14 (2) of Act XCVIII of 2006 on the General Provisions Relating to the Reliable and Economically Feasible Supply of Medicinal Products and Medical Aids and on the Distribution of Medicinal Products the hospitality and meal limit for events organized for healthcare professionals has been increased from 5% to 15% of the monthly amount of the prevailing minimum wage. This meal limit applies to the catering costs provided by pharmaceutical companies at their own events.

The legislative amendment resolves a long-standing problem and raises the amount of hospitality to an appropriate amount. Under the amended provisions, the 15% per person limit once again applies to hospitality not to the cost of the event, aligning with the requirements of EFPIA countries.
